TEACHING

 

Romana teaches comparative social policy; housing policy and laboratory of professional sociology practices at undergraduate level and community, neighbourhood networks and housing policy; research methods and social work research methods at postgraduate level.

 

R&D

 

Research Fellow at Centre for Public Administration & Public Policies.


Her current research broadly focuses on the comparative housing regimes and welfare state reform after the 2008 crisis. The recent projects explore Portuguese welfare state, global social policy, social development and international social work.

She was studying how the embeddedness of resources in social networks is determinant to the social construction of a neighbourhood community. Her previous research broadly focuses on social capital, community building, volunteering and civil society, social risks, gentrification as well as research methods.
